Armored River Crab
Unlike the Small River Crab, the Armored River Crab is considered a tough creature found in many areas, such as the Salathin Forest, nearby the riversides or the seaside. Compared to a Young Moss Crawler, this creature far more dangerous than the spider, though they offer near the same amount of experience.
Apart from having far more health, the armored crab is capable of doing more damage and moves with normal speed. It also has a permanent shield effect, the ability to block incoming melee attacks, and carries the disease Water Rot, which reduces Endurance by five points.
The only weakness this creature has is the jumping attack in melee. If the player character has a long enough weapon (shortswords do work, but the player will get more easily hit) and walks in reverse, the river crab will do the attack multiple, giving the player the opportunity to swing its weapon against the armored crab.
Ranged attacks, especially magical attacks, can also be used to take it down.
